Terry's Tips

It's important to discuss with children what we learn on the title page of a book. We learn the name of the book. We also learn the authors name, the person who wrote the book. We learn who drew the pictures, the illustrator's name.

Extension Activity: Have children make a title page for a story they would want to write! Have them think of an idea for a story and pick a title for it. Tell them that writing their own stories would make THEM the authors! Have them draw a picture for their title pages. Now they are the illustrators!
