Baby seal swimming down the creek.

Trying to eat them, the baby seal followed the herring down a winding creek for a long time.

Terry's Tips

Reading and talking about new words is important, but it is also helpful for children to use the words after the story is finished. Children need to use words several times to really learn them!

Are these words you chose to teach your children? If so, you might ask children to demonstrate walking on a winding road or to draw a picture of a creek. Talk with them about the word as they demonstrate it. If you chose different words, think of similar ways for them to show they know the words.
