Tlingit Traditions

The Tlingit also use their resources to build totem poles . It is a tradition to have these poles outside their homes. They are used to show the history of the family.

I know that a totem pole shows a family's history using wooden carvings of animals or faces. My family totem pole might have an eagle because my family likes to fly in airplanes and eagles fly. I also might include a carving of a dog face because I am a dog.
