A volcano is a mountain or a hill with an opening at the top through which hot materials such as lava , erupt. Most volanoes are found along the pacifc ocean.
Think about what other types of land are big and tall. Sometimes people climb big tall land masses, sometimes people skii and snowboard on them. They look just like a volcano without the big hole at the top!
