Writing Deadly Descriptive Paragraphs

All right, now you have a list of details about the tree you are describing and an idea of the kinds of questions that descriptive paragraphs answer. Now it is time to begin writing your paragraph.

You may choose, with the help of your teacher, which of the following ways work best for you to write your paragraph.

When you write your paragraph what part of the tree are you going to focus on? Are you going to describe just how the tree looks? Are you going to include the other senses? Are you going to describe where the tree is? What lives in the tree?

Remember a paragraph is usually five to six sentences. Do you have enough details to write a paragraph? If not go back and look at the picture again? What do you see that you did not see before?

Don't worry. If you have lots of details you do not need to only write one paragraph! Write three or four and you will be on your way to an essay!
