10, Going on 30  Clara wished she were 10, not 30, then she could still watch cartoons on Saturday morning, instead of driving her kids to soccer practice. She wanted to be young again, young enough not to have any responsibilities, and to be free from her hectic life. If she were ten, she could eat as much food as she wants, and not have to worry about gaining weight. Clara was too old to do all of these things. She had responsibilities that she had to follow through with. She was over

stressed and over worked. One night, Clara saw a lone star in the sky, and wished that she could be ten again. When she woke up the next morning, she realized something was not right. She was not in her house, she was in her parents house. “What am I doing here?” “My parents have been dead for years.” She realized that because of her wish the night before, she was now ten years old.  She knew that she was going to have fun being ten again for as long as she could. Clara heard footsteps coming up the stairs. “Clara, breakfast is ready, and your going to be late for school, if you don’t hurry,” yelled Clara’s mother. So Clara ate her breakfast, and hurried to catch the bus, while she was in school, she remembered that being a kid was not all fun and games. She had already lived her childhood, and she wanted to be able to live her adult life. Even if she had more responsibilities as an adult, and her parents were not around, she knew that this was what she wanted.  So that night, she wished upon the first star in the sky, and she became an adult again the next morning.  -by Zoe Slingluff
