What is it?

The scientific method begins by asking a question. A prediction or hypothesis is made to answer a question. An experiment is designed to test the predication or hypothesis. The data from the experiment is collected. These are the results. The results are then analyized and a conclusion is made to answer the hypothesis. This book will help you define each step of the scientific method.

What are the five stages of the scientific method?

Trying to accomplish the entire process at once is overwhelming. Follow the natural flow of events and complete one step before going onto the next. A graphic organizer will help keep notes orderly and understandable.

The scientific method is a logical, step by step process. There are six stages. First formulate a question. Second, make a prediction about the question. Third, create a method to test your hypothesis using a step by step procedure. Fourth, record the results. In conclusion, summarize your results. Do you prove your hypothesis correct or incorrect?
