Sir Isaac Newton's Laws

His three scientific laws explain how rockets work both on earth and in the vacuum of outer space. These laws are as follows:

1. A body in motion tends to stay in motion and a body at rest tends to stay at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

2. Force = Mass X Acceleration.

3. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction which has the same force but is opposite in direction.

Law 1 Example: A vehicle will keep moving until a force stops it. This force can include, gravity, brakes and/or an object! A vehicle that is stopped with not move unless a force (such as gas "acceleration" or an object hitting it) moves it forward.

Law 2 Example: Acceleration is inversely proportional to the mass of the object. For example, if you are pushing equally on two objects, and one of the objects has five times more mass than the other, it will accelerate at one fifth the acceleration of the other.

Law 3 Example: The Rocket Engine - the exhaust flow of the engine is pushed backwards and the engine pushed forward causing the rocket to go up.
