Prezi
Prezi is a effective Web 2.0 tool that can be used in the classroom that acts much like a powerpoint presentation or a notebook presentation you would have on the Smartboard.
It is a presentation software that is free or offers updates for a monthly price.
It lets you choose between the freedom of the cloud, desktop, or even a mobile option like an iPad.
Prezi presentations are very engaging and allow you to be create in your designs to communicate more effectively to students.
Prezi would be a good tool for students to use if they had to make some sort of presentation. They would be able to create a more cinematic presentation making it engaging for their peers as well as Prezi offers a shared virtual whiteboard so you could be across the continent and still be able to work together on a project. It can also be 3D!
Prezi would work for most age groups that have the ability to use a computer. This would excellent for the new BYOD (bring your own device) system that is now in schools. Students could create one presentation but be on their own separate device.
