(Noun) A set of steps used to find the answers to questions and to discover new information. The scientific method involves doing experiments or studies, and then comparing what actually happens to what you expected to happen.
"When I wanted to know if drinking soda makes people shorter, I decided to follow the steps of the scientific method. I had thought that soda would keep people from growing, but this is not what happened when I did my experiment."
