Tadpoles

NOUN:

The baby of a frog or toad, that does not have legs.

Tadpoles have gills and a long flat tail. As the tadpole becomes an adult, it grows legs and lungs (a body part for breathing air), and the tail slowly disappears for the tadpole to become a frog.
