Alaska

A state in the United States of America. It is located in the North Eastern part of North America and it borders Canada.

bighorn sheep

A species of sheep that is native to North America. These sheep have large horns (which is where they get their name). 


British Columbia

A province in Canada.  It is the westernmost province in Canada.

A geographic area where people share the same or similar culture. 


Culture

The language, customs, beliefs, and art that are unique to a group of people.  Culture is a combination of all of these characteristics.  When people share the same culture, they often spend time together because they have similar characteristics with each other. 


mountain goat

A large hoofed mammal native to North America. Mountain goals can climb well on steep cliffs and ice.

Native Americans

People who are originally from the Americas.  Their ancestors did not immigrate from another country, and they have lived in the Americas all their lives.
