This is a prized product in the Tlingit culture. It is woven from dyed wool of mountain goats and sheep. It is colorful and has shape and animal designs. These blankets are created to tell family stories.

The region is the southeastern coast of Alaska and norther coast of British Columbia. This region largely influences their culture of fishing, carving wood, and hunting. 

These are large pieces of wood that are carved with designs of people and animals. These are placed outside of families' homes and represent the family history. These tells storeis of families, like the Chilkat blankets do.
