Academic Integrity

1. Plagiarism, using information that is not cited.

2. Fabrication, altering true data or observations. 

3. Collusion, using another student's work 

4. Cheating, using materials not approved by instructor or using the same work for more than one course



Academic Integrity Council
A group usually comprised of three students and at least one faculty member who has been trained to serve the University as adjudicators of alleged violations of academic integrity.


Attribution
In journalism, a source is a person, publication or other record or document that gives information.


Center for Student Ethics and Standards

Provides feedback about behaviors that both enhance and harm the academic community, as well as assistance and opportunities in modifying such behaviors.

Hold on future Registration
A registration hold will stop the student from sigining up for future classes at the University.


Notice of Charge
The Notice of Charge will state what conduct is
alleged to have occurred and the standard(s) of the Code which was allegedly violated.


Right to Appeal

The hearing decision may be appealed for the following reasons only:

(1) a procedural error unfairly and materially affected the outcome of the case

2) evidence has been discovered that was not reasonably available at the time of the hearing

(3) there was a clear abuse of discretion on the part of the University Academic Integrity Council.
