A unit of sound in a word.  A syllable contains a vowel and possibly one or more consonants.

To exchange one thing for another.  A good trader makes sure it is a fair trade. The items are close in value.



trapped
Capturing an animal in a trap caused the animal to be trapped.


treaties
A legal agreement between two or more countries.  For example, Native Americans could have sold their land in exchange for a promise that they could still live in the area.
