Glossary

capsid- the capsid is the part of the virus that surrounds the center core.  The capsid is made up of protein. 

Core- the core is the center most part of the virus that is made up of nucleic acid, RNA or DNA

projection- projections can be found on the outer surface of the virus.  The projection can be spikes, leg like extensions, or little protrusions that allow the virus to attach to a host cell.
