Tlingit Traditions
The Tlingit cultural region has a lot of natural resources like forests and different animals. The Tlingit used the resources for food and to build homes. A common tradition is to put a totem pole outside the house to show the history of the family.

Using Their Resources
The Tlingit used the resources around them to make canoes for fishing and hunting. They also made things like blankets, tools, and baskets to trade with other Native Americans.

The Chilkat Blanket
One of the most special things the Tlingit make is called the Chilkat blanket . Just like the totem poles, the designs on the blankets tell stories too.
