LIQUID, SOLID, AND GAS

At normal temperature, water is liquid .

When it is solid it is called ice or snow.

When water is gas it is called water vapor .

The Endless Water Cycle

RAIN

Rain falls to the Earth from the clouds in the sky.

Tiny droplets join and beome too heavy to stay in the clouds .

The water falls as rain and can be light rain or a heavy rain.

RIVERS AND OCEANS

After falling as rain, the next stage is when the water collects in rivers and oceans.

Some rivers flow into lakes but most find their way to the biggest body of water, the ocean

WATER VAPOR

Water from rivers and oceans evaporates into water vapor

Liquid water evaporates when it is heated by the sun.

Water vapor rises from the water to form clouds in the sky.

CLOUDS

Water vapor is made up of tiny droplets of liquid water as it rises and forms clouds.

The droplets are so small that they can float up to the blue sky.

Droplets combine in the clouds and become heavy which will soon fall as rain again.
