There has been a troubling terror in NounTown and all the adjectives have disappeared. All the nouns are missing their describing partners. There is panic all over the town and the nouns are unsure what to do.  They have enlisted Detective Spark to find out what happened to all the adjectives.

Once Detective Spark arrived, he started asking many nouns questions to found out who or what has taken the adjectives. Many of the young nouns have asked......

What Is an Adjective?

Detective Spark replied, "The simplest definition of an adjective is that it is a word that describes or clarifies a noun. Adjectives describe nouns by giving some information about an object’s size, shape, age, origin or material. They are added to nouns to state what kind, what colour, which one or how many. Adjectives are said to modify nouns and are necessary to make the meanings of sentences clearer or more exact."

Detective Spark continued to explain, "Sentences are more interesting when there are adjectives used to describe the nouns. Life is boring without adjectives! There would be no color, no texture, no excitement. So where are all the adjectives?"

All the nouns and Detective Sparks look high and low for the adjectives, but they are no where to be found.

One little noun said, "my doll use to have such pretty adjectives, but now it is plain and boring. I miss my describing words. Detective please find them."

Detective Spark pulled out his handy spy gear. He was ready to explore NounTown to see if he could find clues of where the adjectives had gone.

A hefty noun stood up and said, "Mr. Detective, I know you have skills of finding our adjectives. Will you please hurry? I need to describing words back so I don't look the same as all the others. I need to be my own person."

Detective Spark asked as many Nouns as he could. He was putting the pieces together when he came across two nouns he hadn't talked to before. They were slightly different then all the other nouns in the town and he could tell they were hidding something.

The Detective decided he needed to talk to these two nouns.  He found that they still had their color adjectives. A man with a red tie and woman with her white glasses. Detective Spark asked, "How do you have your adjectives intack? Where did you happen to find them? Are their others you are hiding?"

The two nouns looked up and ran away from the scene. As the detective chased them down, one by one adjectives came flying out of their pockets.

Colors, textures, shaped, and sizes were being tossed everywhere. Soon the town was full of their adjectives.  Fluffy nouns, pretty nouns, fat nouns, and more. Every noun in the town had their describing partners back.

Detective Spark caught up with the two nouns who had stolen the adjectives. He questioned them. They told him they wanted more color in their lives. This is why they stole the adjectives. The detective placed them in the NounTown jail with no describing words to comfort them.

The nouns were very grateful to Detective Spark. They gave him the most amazing adjective to take home with him. SUPERB!!!!
