YES PAPA!

“No abuela, please don’t tie my hair so tight!” Vanessa’s grandma was helping her get ready for school. When Vanessa’s friends came, Vanessa grabbed her school bag and tried to run out of the house.

Mama stopped her and gave Vanessa her school bag and gave her a hug. As they walked to school, they ran into Papa. “Vanessa, make sure you come home right after school today. Don’t wander off or talk to strangers. Vanessa rolled her eyes. “I know Papa. You always treat me like I am a baby. Let’s go amigas!” Vanessa and her friends ran to school.

On the way back from school, Vanessa saw a beautiful forest. “Wow, I wonder what it looks like inside!  Amigas! Let’s go there. No Vanessa, remember what your dad said? We can’t go. Let’s go home.” Vanessa did not listen. Her friends ran home and Vanessa ran into the forest.

The sun had set and it was getting dark. The moonlight helped Vanessa to see a little. Vanessa looked around and realized that she was by herself. She couldn’t see and she didn’t know how to go back home. Vanessa was sad. She wished she had just listened to her dad. Vanessa froze as she heard the cry of a wolf. Vanessa didn’t know what to do. She began to cry.

Then she heard something. It sounded like it was coming towards her. Vanessa began to run. As she ran faster, so did the footsteps. Vanessa ran, but soon it caught her. Please leave me alone! I just want to go home! Please! Vanessa pleaded, but it wouldn’t let her go and held her tighter until they were out of the woods. On the other side waiting, was Vanessa’s Mama, Abuela, and friends. They all hugged Vanessa and were so happy she was ok. Where is Papa? Vanessa asked. Is he still mad at me? Why didn’t he come see me? Then the figure stepped out from behind her. The person in the forest was her Papa. Papa! You saved me!

Papa to the rescue! Vanessa and hugged her Papa and cried.

Vanessa was so happy to be back home, safe with her family. When it was time for bed, papa had a talk with Vanessa. “Vanessa, sometimes children will not understand rules, but we have rules to keep you safe at all times,” said Papa. “Papa, I am so sorry! I understand now. I will always follow the rules and obey you. Yes Papa!, Vanessa promised. Buenas Noches mija. Buenas Noches Papa.
