Vocabulary is necessary to understand the ideas the author is sharing with you as a reader.  We will read the following vocabulary to help you understand totally the embarrassment that Amy was feeling because of her family's "different" version of Christmas.

Vocabulary to focus on in "Fish Cheeks"

1.  Shabby-worn out and not traditional

2.  Prawns- Large oversized shrimp

3.  Appalling-terrible, shockingly bad

4. Dried fungus- mushrooms

5.  Clamor- loud, repeating noise

In class we annotated the story and discussed plot.  We focused on Amy's feelings as clues to when the parts of plot changed.  Answer the question below.
