The Unseen

By Brittany Visconti

Eman Mohammed was born in Saudi Arabia in 1987. She studied in Gaza City, Palestine and decided in 2006 to pursue her dream of becoming a photojournalist.

Eman's photography focuses on the Israeli Palestinian conflict. At first, she mostly covered the violence and aftermath of bombings and invasions, but now she looks closely at women's issues.

Her work has been published internationally because it gives the world a window into an unseen world.

Although she is a great photographer, Eman Mohammed has received a lot of backlash for her work. In her culture, many believe that women should not hold jobs outside of the home or be educated.

Eman has not let this discourage her. She fights adversity every day by being dedicated to her work. She knows that she has an important job by bringing to light all of the problems occurring on the Gaza Strip.

Because of her, the unseen is becoming seen.
