Web 2.0 Applications in Education

Education Logo

Google Doc Logo

Google Docs is a web application that enables students to write word documents and save them online via the student's google drive. This is a very useful for collaborative work between students.

For example, students can create a google document that contains a collective set of notes for an upcoming test. Students can also create a google doc to ask their peers questions that they had trouble with in class.

This application is good for all ages and freely available for everyone to use.

Dropbox Logo

Dropbox is a web application that allows students to share files and documents. This application is also a good way to distribute learning materials to students. The only caveat is that we cannot upload material illegally (eg. copyrighted material).

Students can also use Dropbox to save pictures and videos from their phone. This makes it a lot easier to share online media with everyone.

This application is good for all ages and is freely available for everyone.

Khan Academy Logo

Many students who have trouble understanding math and science courses in class may like to supplement their learning with Khan Academy. This web application provides short lectures that explain complicated concepts elegantly. Khan Academy also provides practice exercises and educational tools for teachers.

I would recommend students to use this application to supplement their learning in school. In addition, students can complete exercises in this application which will help them track their learning journey.

This application is good for all ages and is freely available for everyone.
