Butterflies are very beautiful and their life cycle is an interesting adventure.

A butterfly has a Complete life cycle. This means there are four stages that are very different.
This is the first stage. A caterpillar lays an egg or eggs near the food source.

The second stage is the caterpillar hatches and begins eating a lot.

The third stage is the caterpillar spins a cocoon and enters the chrysalis stage.

The fourth and final stage is the adult stage. The butterfly emerges from the chrysalis.
