Tlingit Culture
The Tlingit are a group of Native Americans who live in the United States of America.
They live along the southeastern coast of Alaska and the northern coast of British Columbia .
The inlfuence of Tlingit culture is strong throughout this area. As a result, this area is called the Tlingit cultural region .
One part of Tlingit culture is the totem poles that stand outside Tlingit families' homes.
These totem poles are a family tradition that people still practice today.
The totem poles represent the history of the family.
Another part of Tlingit culture is the Chilkat blanket.
Originally, these blankets were made out of wool from mountain goats and sheep .
The blankets are made of designs of shapes and animals, and these blankets also tell a story, just like the totem poles.
