The Girl in the White Dress
A Story About the Importance of Communication
Carlos was walking home along the river when he came across a girl in a white dress. She was weeping with her head in her hands.
"What is wrong?", Carlos asked. The girl just continued to cry, then began screaming and flailing her arms frantically.
"Ar...Are you ok?" Carlos asked. He took a tentaive step towards her. She continued to scream and stomp her feet angrily. Not knowing what else to do, Carlos reached into his backpack and pulled out a pencil and a notebook.
"Can you write down what is wrong?", Carlos asked. He handed her the notebook and pencil. She stopped crying, nodded and began to scribble on the paper.
She handed the paper back to Carlos. "I lost my bear in the river and cannot find it anymore." the note said.
"Let's look for it together", Carlos said. The girl nodded and followed Carlos as they walked downstream together.
After sometime, they found the bear propped up against some rocks.
The girl smiled, then ran over to the bear and hugged it cose to her chest. She gestured thank you to Carlos, then gave him a hug too.
Carlos smiled as he made his way back home.
