A Day at The Races

Today is the Big Race! My Cub Scout Den is racing in the Pushmobile race for the first time. We can't wait to see how well our car does!

We started working on our car 3 weeks ago. There was a lot involved in making the car. Everyone had to work together as a team to build it. My den started by drawing pictures of what we wanted our car to look like.

Then we started building our car. We used wheels that Ben brought from home. The body of our car was made from parts we all had at home. It was very hard to make all the pieces fit together.

Once our car was built, we painted it red! We chose red because a lot of fast cars are red! We even painted matching helmets to wear during the race!

When we got to the race, we were very excited to see the other cars that dens built. It was going to be a tough race!

We won the first two races with no problem! We had worked well as a team. Now it was time for the final race to see who won!

Everyone was cheering and telling us good luck. We were very nervous. The other team was very fast too. We started out behind and we thought we were going to lose the race. Slowly we caught up with the other team. Going down the last stretch of the race, we were tied. It was a close race! Who was going to win?

WE WON!!!!!

It was a great day at the races!!
