Who are the Tlingit people?

The Tlingit are Native American people who live along the coast of Alaska and the coast of British Columbia in Canada. The Tlingit people are known for their use of natural resources

What is a totem pole?

A totem pole is a post carved with images of people and animals. A totem pole is usually painted with bright colors. A totem pole is a traditional craft used to represent the history of a family in the tribe.


What is a Chilkat?

A Chilkat is a blanket made by Tlingit people. A Chilkat blanket is woved from dyed wool of mountain goats and sheep. A Chilkat blanket is colorful with designs of shapes and animals on it. It is a tradition for a Chilkat blanket to tell a story.
