Using Resources Again

How to save energy by reusing our resources

What does reusing our resources mean?

By saving materials that we have used in the past, we can conserve energy that will postively impact the environment. Old materials can be used to make new things. Reusing and recycling conserves land, keeping it from becoming landfill space.

Ways to Recycle

There are many ways that people can conserve the planet's energy. This can be done by recycling. You recycle  when you change a material that can be used again in a different way. For example, instead of using paper napkins, you might use cloth and hand wash them when they are dirty.

How Glass is Recycled

When glass is sorted into a recycle bin, it is then taken to a recycling plant to be processed. The glass is broken into shards and smashed into small pieces called cullet

As seen from this flyer, our energy consumption rate decreases when we recycle glass!

What does recycled glass create?

Once cullet is developed in the glass plant, it is melted together to create many different materials that we use daily. These primarily include bottles, jars, and windowpanes. If glass is recycled, it can be used over and over again, so it is important to continue this process each time glass materials are used.

These are recycled glass jars that have been made through the cullet process!
