The Life of a Butterfly
Before a butterfly gains its wings, it goes through four different stages .
First, the butterfly starts off as tiny little eggs. These eggs are usually very small and laid on the leaves of plants!
Next, the eggs turn into a larva, which most people know as a caterpillar! This is the second stage. In this stage, the little caterpillar is eating a lot of leaves, so they can grow in to a big caterpillar.
Once the caterpillar is strong and big enough, it begins to form itself into a pupa. Inside the pupa, the catterpillar is going through metamorphosis in order to become a beautiful butterfly!
Once the catterpillar is done going through metamorphosis, the butterfly slowly begins to come out. Then, it flaps its wings and is flying in the air as a beautiful butterfly! Soon after, the butterfly will lay eggs and begin the cycle all over again!
