When I'm Frustrated

A Behavior Social Story

By: Kiah Jones

When I'm frustrated, I make poor choices. These choices can hurt my friends or their feelings and I can get in trouble.

Instead of hitting or kicking someone or something, I can walk away.

Instead of yelling or screaming, I can use my words and say "I'm frustrated right now".

Instead of hiding or running out of the classroom, I can ask for a sensory break.

Instead of biting myself or a peer, I can squeeze my hands together or ask the teacher for a stress ball.

Instead of pushing my friends, I can step back and take a deep breath.

What else can you do if you're frustrated?

You can:

drink water, dance, take a walk, ask for a weighted vest, stretch your body, ask for a sensory break, ask for a stress ball, ask for a hug or someone to talk to, use your words
