When You Get Mad

When you get upset, you can make choices that can hurt yourself or can upset and hurt others. 

However, you can make good choices that can help you calm down!



When you are mad, You can raise your hand and ask the teacher to go to the quiet room. You will not scream at or hit the teacher or other students. You will use your words to tell the teacher what you want and what you need. 




You will not run away from the teacher or hide from the teacher. Instead, you will count on your fingers to ten. 


Instead of biting someone, You can squeeze your hands and body. You will not bite anyone. 



You can not spit on anyone when you are mad.  You will tell the teacher what is bothering you, so she can help you calm down.




When you get mad, there is a lot of other things that you can do, that will not hurt yourself and others !

1. Take deep breaths

2. ask for breaks 

3. Take a walk 

4. Close your eyes and imagine your happy place 

5. count to 10 slowly
