What is Flipgrid?
Flipgrid is an online social learning platform that allows a teacher to ask a question to their students. The students then answer the discussion question through a video. This online tool can be accessed through a computer, tablet, or mobile device
Here is a video on how educators can use Flipgrid in their classrooms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLzX13jw7bw
To sign up, simply click the box that says "Educator Signup", and proceed to fill out the necessary information
Once you are signed up, you can create a group that is specific to your class
You can then add your students as members by submitting their email or username, or you can provide your students with your group code
Once you are ready to start your first discussion, click the blue box that says "+Topic" and add your first discussion question
Now your students can submit a video response to your discussion question, and you can advance the discussion or give feedback to each of your students
Why Flipgrid?
Flipgrid gives your students a way to to be actively involved in a class discussion in their own creative way. This can be good for students to work on their public speaking skills. It also provides a great opportunity for English learning students to develop their English language proficiency.
