To Dance

By Julie Mighdoll

Heather always wished that she could dance. When she was really little she took ballet, but everyone told her she wasn't very good so she stopped dancing.

As Heather got older and reached elementary school she was sad that she wasn't dancing anymore. She loved watching the school plays and seeing all the boys and girls dance. She wished that she was up there dancing in front of the school and that everyone was applauding for her. She still wanted to grow up to be a dancer.

When Heather got home from school her favorite shows to watch were dancing shows. Sometimes she would pretend she was the dancers on the show and get up and twirl in the air. She felt silly, but was smiling and having such a great time.

Then one day Heather was telling her friend how much she loved to watch others dance. Her friend starting dancing and Heather saw that it doesn't matter that she isn't the best dancer. If she loves to dance then she should!

Heather and her friend started dancing together everyday.

Heather now dances everyday even though she is not as good as some of the other dancers.  She has become a teacher and teaches students how to dance.  She does what she loves.
