How to Embed Video into Book Builder

Getting ready

To embed YouTube or other web-based video into a Book Builder page, you will need the embed code of your video.

You can find the embed code by going to the webpage where the video lives and doing some looking around. 

In YouTube, for example, the embed code is in a box, at the right side of the video, immediately below the 'url' box.

'Click' in the embed code box to highlight the entire code.  Click 'Ctrl + C' to copy the code.

This is how the embed code looks for the video I'm using:

Now you are ready to embed your video into your Book Builder book!  Here's how:

1. Go to the page you want your video to appear.
2. Open one of your text boxes.  Place your cursor where you want your video positioned.
3. Press 'enter' twice.
4. Highlight the empty space created when you pressed 'enter' twice.  You will see that the 'insert/edit link' function is now available.

    5.    Click the 'insert/edit link' button. 
    6.    Paste your embed code where it asks for the 'url.' Do not choose a 'target.' 
    7.    Type the video source citation in the 'title' box.
    8.    Click 'Save.' 
    9.    Click the 'Save' button in your Add/Edit text box (the video will not display).
   10.   Click 'Add/Edit' text again for the box where you put your video.
   11.   Your video will appear.  Click 'Save.'

Tips: 

• Type the video source citation below where the video will be located
• Do all your editing and formatting before you embed your video.  Book Builder will not let you change anything on this page after you embed a video.
