How the desert was made

HOW THE DESERT WAS MADE

Long ago in the Dreamtime, there was a brother and sister who lived with their tribe in a colourful forest with lots of food, plants and water.

The brother and sister were always fighting and arguing. They fought and argued and the sister started to cry. She cried and could not stop crying. She decided to run away from the tribe and live a long way away. She would only come back once a year to visit.

The Sun Spirit was very annoyed with both of them and decided to punish them.

He turned the brother into sand and the sister into rain so they would never fight again.

This is how desert was created and the rain only comes back to visit the desert once a year to bring some water for the plants and animals.
