The long plane trip to their new home was finally over. As the family got off the plane, Tatiana exclaimed, “I feel so cold. I’m freezing!” “Mom, do you have our coats?” asked Juan.

Mom said, “Yes, dear! Here they are.”

They took a taxi to their new apartment.

On the way, the children could hear the honk, honk, honk of all the cars and trucks. “Listen to all the noises!” said Dad.

After a short trip from the airport, the family arrived at their new apartment. It was across the street from a big park, The Boston Common.

Looking towards the park, Juan asked, “Do you see those kids over there?  What are they doing?”  Our cab driver said, “They are ice skating on Frog Pond.”

“Can we go over to Frog Pond?” Tatiana and Juan asked.  Mom replied, “Yes.  It would be fun to see the children ice skate.”  Mom turned to Dad and said, “Meet us at the pond after you take the suitcases to our new home.”

“Children, do you hear?  They are skating to music,” said Mom.

As they walked closer to the pond, Juan picked up some snow and threw it on Tatiana. “Wow, when I touch or feel the snow it is cold!” they echoed.

There was a concession stand next to the pond. Juan smelled the air. “Boy, that food smells good! I’m getting hungry. Can we get something to eat?” asked Juan.

After they got their food, Tatiana said, “I love my hamburger!  And these fries are so tasty!  Dad, you were right. America is going to be a great place to live!”

The End!
