The Ride of Paul Revere




Who: Paul Revere




What: The "Midnight Ride" horseback ride through town just before the battles of Lexington and Concord.



When: Revere's famous ride occurred on the night of April 18,1775



Where: Lexington/ Concord, Massachusetts


Why: Paul Revere made his famous ride to tell people that the British were marching in thier direction.



Last night Thursday April 18 a carpenter from Boston Paul Revere rode  a horsethrough the town of Lexington alerting the towns people othat the British were marching in there direction. He looked to the harbor and saw the British troops moving. This brave man saved many lives with his heroic moment.



This June, Betsy Ross was struggling to run her own upholstery business. Upholsterers in colonial America not only worked on furniture but did all manner of sewing work, which for some included making flags and uniforms. General Washington came Ross and showed Betsy a rough design of the flag that included a six-pointed star. Betsy, changed a few things and made our countrie's first flag.
