What is ADHD?

ADHD is a disorder of the brain that controls behavior and makes it very, very hard to concentrate.



There are three types of ADHD

The first type is called Inattentive Type and people with this type of ADHD might have trouble with keeping things organized, and following directions, completing homework and chores and can get distracted very easily.

The second type of ADHD is called Hyperactive/Impulsive. What this means is that people with this type of ADHD have a hard time sitting still for a long time. People with this type of ADHD move around a lot at inappropriate times such as when the teacher is talking, and can make it hard to comprehend reading a book.

The third type is a mix of the first two types of ADHD called Combined Type.


Am I still smart if you have ADHD?

Yes! Some of the smartest people have ADHD. Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison had ADHD and they greatly contributed to society and were thought of to be some of the smartest people ever. There are no limits to what you can do in your life.




Thomas Edison was an inventor whose inventions gave us the light bulb, motion picture camera, and the phonograph.
