The Preamble to the Constitution of the United States
“We the People of the United States,
in Order to form a more perfect Union ,
establish Justice ,
insure domestic Tranquility ,
provide for the common defence ,
promote the general Welfare ,
and secure the Blessings of Liberty
to ourselves and our Posterity ,
do ordain and establish
this Constitution
for the United States of America.”

The Preamble is the introduction to the Constitution . It explains what the Constitution is going to talk about.
The Preamble names six goals that the Constitution is going to enforce:
The first goal is "Form a more perfect Union "
The second is to "Establish justice "
The third is to "Insure domestic tranquility "
The fouth is to “Provide for the common defense ”
The fifth is to "Promote the general welfare ”
The sixth is to “Secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity ”
Task: Modern Preamble
Create a modern version of the Preamble to the Constitution for the United States.
Can be put to a song, poem, text message, storyboard, concept web etc. Be creative!
Must use at least 4 of the 6 goals from the Preamble.
Checklist:
- Includes the name of our country/classroom/group etc.
- Includes all the principles stated in the original Preamble
- Uses modern language
- Is original and creative
- All group member names must be on the final version.
