The Great American Football Game

By: Danielle Malecki

Before going to a football game many people like to tailgate. During a tailgate there are many things to do. One thing people like to do is eat a lot of food.

Another thing that people do while tailgating is play games. People play a game of dice and many kids play catch with a football. There are other games such as a beanbag toss.

Then it is time to go into the stadium for the game. Before the game can be played the national anthem of the United States is sung.

Sometimes there is also a flyover. A flyover is when military jets fly over the stadium at the end of the national anthem. The national anthem and flyover are signs of the patriotism in our country.

Then it is time for the game! People cheer very loud for the defense. The defense needs to stop the other team from scoring a touchdown or a field goal.

Once the defense has done their work of stopping the other team, the offense comes on the field. People hope that their team scores a touchdown or a field goal to get some points for the team to win the game.

After the big game when the team wins, fans can go to the Atrium at Lambeau field. From the Atrium fans can go to the pro shop, where they can buy clothes and other Packer items or they can go to the Hall of Fame.

But, after some games a fan may be lucky enough to spot some of the players for an autograph signing session in the atrium. Here are the wide receivers from the Green Bay Packers signing autographs after a win against the Vikings.

At the end of the season the stadium is empty. But, there are always tours so fans can go into the stadium and see the field and club seats and boxes.

Until the season starts again…
