Religion in the War

Hitler attempted to wipe out all the Jews by killing them, imprisoning them, and experimenting on them. This was called the Holocaust.

Effects on the Economy

WWII forced women into the workplace, ended the Great Depression and bankrupted Germany.  What other effects did it have on the economy? After the war, money was in surplus and people spent money.  The American Dollar was powerful throughout the world.

Effects on Society

War time posters lead to patriotism.  Women went to work and became spenders.  New inventions; minorities in sports, music and drama; fashion improvements.  What other effects did the war have on society? Civil rights for women and minorities became an issue.

Effects on Politics

After World War II, the Arms Race began.  America was no longer isolationist, but a super power.

During the war, the U. S. built internment camps for the Japanese as our fear spread.

The "Red Scare" began and so did the hunt for communists.

Unfortunately, these changes were at the expense of many lives.
