Once there was a little kitty who wanted to run away. So he said to his mother, "I am running away."
"If you run away," said his mother, "I will run after you. For you are my little kitty."

"If you run after me," said the little kitty, "I will become a kite floating in the wind."

"If you become a kite floating in the wind," said his mother, "I will become a kite flyer and I will find the tail of your kite to pull you in."

"If you become a kite flyer," said the little kitty, "I will become a chameleon and change colors, so you cannot see me."

"If you become a chameleon and change colors," said his mother, "I will become a scientist and I will search for you."

"If you become a scientist," said the little kitty, "I will become a butterfly and fly away from you."

"If you become a butterfly," said his mother, "I will become a butterfly catcher. And I will catch you."

"If you become a butterfly catcher," said the little kitty, "I will become a bunny and hop away from you."

"If you become a bunny and hop away from me," said his mother, "I will become your mother bunny and hop along with you."

"If you become my mother bunny," said the little kitty, "I will become a book in a library."

"If you become a book in a library," said his mother, "I will become a reader and come read you."

"Shucks," said the little kitty, "I might just as well stay where I am and be your little kitty."

And so he did.
"Here is a ball of yarn to play with," said the mother kitty.
