Burrito acting over confident about the race

Once upon a time, there was a sly coyote named Burrito. Burrito was a very lonely coyote who had no friends. All he ever did was brag about how fast he could run.

One day, Burrito was roaming around the desert and came across a roadrunner named Taco. Taco says, "Hi, what are you doing out here in the heat?" Burrito answered, "I'm really bored and I'm looking for something fun to do." Taco replies, "Well, what do you like to do?"

All of a sudden Burrito's face lit up with excitement and he shouted, "I LOVE RACING BECAUSE I ALWAYS WIN, NO ONE CAN BEAT ME!"

After hearing Burrito brag about his speed, Taco thought it would be thrilling to challenge him in a race. Taco says, "Burrito, you aren't as fast as you say your are, I CHALLENGE YOU TO A RACE TOMORROW. Meet me at the cactus at the end of the road!"

Burrito replies with an enormous laugh, "HA HA HA, I'll see you there tomorrow, you silly roadrunner!"

Taco shouts back, "We'll see who's silly tomorrow!" Then Taco took off in a hurry to get home to get ready for the big race.

The next day, Taco woke up very early. He was so excited about the race, he spent all morning stretching his muscles.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the desert, Burrito was busy flipping through his comic book. He knew he could beat Taco, so he didn't bother preparing for the race.

Finally, it was time for the big race. Burrito and Taco both made their way to the cactus at the end of the road. They both took their place at the starting line. On the count of three, the race began. One, Two, Three, GO!

Burrito took off in a hurry and gained an early lead in the race. Taco didn't care about Burritos lead, because he had his own plan. Burrito was so confident that once Taco was out of his sight, he laid down under a shady tree and took a nap.

Meanwhile, Taco was running at the same pace he started with. All of a sudden, he found Burrito laying under a tree. As Taco ran past Burrito he thought, "Silly coyote, so confident you will beat me, think again!" Taco sped past Burrito not making a sound.

As Taco passed the finish line, Burrito woke up and realized he had lost the race. Burrito made his way to the finish line and saw Taco celebrating with his friends. Taco went up to Burrito and said, "Good race!" Burrito congratulated Taco and from this day forward he never bragged again.
