What I Want To Be

A story about what Megan wants to be when she grows up.

Written and Illustrated by Karissa Cochran

Megan often debated about what she wanted to be when she grew up. She wanted to be a doctor, a teacher, an astronaut, and a "baby doctor". She couldn't decide on just one of these. Her mom and dad told her she had plenty of time to decide what she wanted to be.

Megan had many interests. She loved helping people, loved singing, and loved animals, but Megan especially loved insects. She loved bugs of all kinds. Crawly ones, furry ones, flying ones, digging ones, biting ones, friendly ones, and shy ones.

Megan would spend hours and hours searching for bugs. Each one would bring an excited sqeal from her! She would come running to anyone around to tell them about it or show them her new find!

There were several times when Megan would freak people out by running over to them to show them her new "friend".

People were so amazed that this little girl could be so brave as to hold bugs and play with them.

One day, while watching Megan play, her dad and mom were talking about how excited Megan got when she found bugs. That's when her dad told her there was a job that lets you study bugs! This job is called an entomologist. She thought that sounded pretty cool!

Megan's parents always reminded her that no matter what she decided to be when she grew up they would love her just the way she is!
