Alex and the Little Pumpkin
Story by Kristina Maricle
In the light of the yellow moon, the little pumpkin sat all alone, crying.
He was sad.
His friends and family had already been picked to go home with kids.
The little pumpkin was still there,
all by himself.
Alex was outside playing in his yard and singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" when he heard someone or something crying. "I wonder who is crying," Alex thought. Alex knew it was getting dark, but he had to go investigate. He had to help!
Alex couldn't believe his eyes or ears!
It was a PUMPKIN crying!
He went over to the little pumpkin, touched the stem, and asked, "Are you okay? Why are you crying?"
The little pumpkin was startled that someone was talking to him. "I am just sad, all my friends and family have been picked and went home with kids and I am still here, all alone."
The little pumpkin thought that was a great idea!
Alex picked up the little pumpkin and took him home.
He carved him and placed him next to his other pumpkins.
The little pumpkin was the happiest pumkin ever...
and Alex was the happiest kid ever!
