“Vavo, can we go to the beach?” said Jose.

“Yes, Jose,” said Vavo.  “What do you want to do when we get there?”

Jose said, “I want to build a sandcastle with my pail.”

“I have never built a sandcastle with a pail,” said Vavo.

“What did you do with your pail when you went to the beach?” asked Jose.

“I used my pail to carry the periwinkles that I picked from the rocks to eat for dinner,” said Vavo.

“When we get to the beach I want to find pretty shells for my collection,” said Jose.

“I never had a shell collection.  I dug clams and cooked them in their shells for my dinner,” said Vavo.

“When we get to the beach, I want to go swimming,” said Jose.

“When I was young, I never went swimming.  I went fishing and sold the fish at the market,” said Vavo.

“When we get to the beach, I want to watch the fishing boats,” said Jose.

“I used to work on the fishing boats,” said Vavo.  “We would fish all day for our family and friends.”

“Look Jose, we are here.  What will we do?” asked Vavo.

“I want to do something on the beach that you did, Vavo,” said Jose.

Vavo replied, “Okay, and I want to do something that you like to do.”

“Vavo, I had fun today picking periwinkles,” said Jose.

“I also had fun building a sandcastle,” said Vavo.

“Let’s go home and cook the periwinkles for our dinner,” they said together.

The End!
