Goldilocks and the Two Mice and Three Lions

Goldilocks and the Two Mice and Three Lions is a fractured fairy tale based on the story Goldilocks.  It is a fractured fairy tale because it is a story that uses fairy tales you know and changes the characters, setting, point of view, or plots.

Once upon a time there lived a little girl named Goldilocks who lived with her mother in a small town stuck in the middle of a thick forest.  Goldilocks never listened to her mother when she was told to do chores like washing the dishes.  She was very lazy.

"I don't see why I have to do all the work," Goldilocks grumbled and mumbled under her breath as she dried the dishes.

Goldilocks was still grumbling the next morning when she heard her mother call for her.

"Take this money and go to the store to get mouse traps," her mother told her.  "Do not go through the forest".

Since Goldilocks never listened to her mother she rolled her eyes and refused to listen to what she had been told.  She took the money and left the house going directly to the forest.  As she walked into the woods  Goldilocks saw a sign that said Don't go this way! Beware of Lions!! Instead of taking the warning Goldilocks ignored the sign and went through the woods anyway.

As Goldilocks walked on the path through the woods she saw cages with lions in them.  She felt sorry for them and thought about how she wouldn't want to be locked up either.

The lions were very clever and decided to trick Goldilocks into letting them out.  They thought about how hungry they were.  The youngest lion was talking very nice and soft to Goldilocks.

"We've been locked up soo long.  Everybody ignores us.  Please help us"?  Goldilocks felt sorry for the lions because their voices were sad.  She let them out.

Then they tried to eat her. A hunter who was coming to check the cages heard Goldilocks scream.  He saw the lions trying to eat her so he used his gun to shoot the lions.

Goldilocks remembered that she had to go to the store for the mouse traps her mother wanted.  She ran straight to the store, bought the mouse traps, and ran quickly back to her house.

"What took you so long," her mother asked.

Goldilocks shrugged and walked away quickly before her mother thought of another chore for her to do.  Later that night Goldilocks lay in bed and thought about what she had done this morning.  Her last thought before she fell asleep was she sure wasn't going to mess with lions again.
