Disease and Disease Types
Yeast infections tare fungal infections. The scientific name for yeast infection, Candidasis, is also technically known as Candidosis, Moniliasis, and Oidiomycosis.
It is not considered abnormal in infants unless it lasts longer than a couple of weeks.
There are 150 different species of yeast infections, and it is always in your body.
People with weak immune systems are more likely to get yeast infections.
Symptoms.
a comon symptom for someone with Yeast Infection is a whitish cottage chese like discharge. Other symptoms include itching, burning, soreness, and irritation.
Doctors Diagnoses.
A doctors Diagnose incloudes a scraping or swab of the affected area is placed on a microscope slide. A single drop of 10% potassium hydroxide (KOH) solution is then added to the speciman. The KOH dissolves the skin cells but leaves the Candida cells intact, permitting visualization of pseudohyphae and budding yeast cells typical of many Candida Species.
For the culturing method, a sterile swab is rubbed on the infected skin surface. The swab is then streaked on a culture medium. The culture is incubated at 37°C for several days, to allow development of yeast or bacterial colonies. The characteristics (such as morphology and colour) of the colonies may allow initial diagnosis of the organism that is causing disease symptoms.
Possible Complictions.
Untreated yeast infection will not heal by itself. In fact if you leave your condition untreated the symptoms can develop over time and you may experience very uncomfortable moments in your life.

In 1953 Dr Orian Truss discovered the devastating effects of antibiotics in an Alabama (USA) hospital. Dr. Crook showed a way to fight this condition and limit it’s symptoms by “starving” the yeast with a special and severe method of eating called the Candida diet.
Present
Keeping the infected areas clean is always a way to help out the infection. Some of the medical options are Yeast Clear, Vare ferm, and Vagi sooth. An alternative would be Probiotics.
The Future of Treatment
Antifungal drugs may often have poor corneal penetration, as they are routinely administered on an hourly basis for weeks at a time, day and night. However, emerging new therapies aim to change that aspect: one new technology is a contact lens that elutes econazole, an antifungal medication of the imidazole class. The lens is designed to treat and prevent fungal ocular infections and results showed that the release of 16mg of econazole killed 100% of fungi for 21 days. An antifungal contact lens provides a one-two punch by reducing the treatment burden in addition to increasing patient compliance.
