The Williamson Kids: A New Telling of The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Once upon a time there were three children Quintin, Jada, and Curtis.  They were brothers and sister.  They lived with their mother and father in the city .

Quintin, Jada, and Curtis

Quintin was 5 years old.  He was in kindergarten. Jada was 7 years old.  She was in first grade.  Curtis was the oldest brother.  He was 10 years old and in fifth grade.

The children loved to play at the park .  Each day after school the kids went to the park .

They liked the park close to home, but the park down the street had a big slide the kids wanted to go on.

One day while the kids were at the park

Jada said, " Let's go to the park with the big slide."

Quintin and Curtis smiled and said, " Sure, let's go."

A few other boys said, "I wouldn't go if I were you, the big kid down the street is mean ."

The kids wanted to go to the park with the big slide, so they went home and made a plan .

Quintin, the 5 year old went to the park with the big slide first.  The big kid saw him and said, "Give me your money so I can buy ice cream ."

Quintin was scared.  He told the big kid, "Wait for my sister to come she has my money in her pocket ."

The big kid let Quintin go.

Next, Jada walked down the street. The big kid came over to Jada and said, "Give me your money and your little brother's money, so I can buy ice cream."

Jada said, "I have one dollar, but my older brother has a lot more.  He will be here soon and then you can buy a lot of ice cream."

The big kid said, "Good idea" and let Jada go.

When Curtis got to the park, the big kid could see Curtis was bigger than him.  He did not try to take Curtis's money.  When he saw Curtis talk to his brother and sister the big kid became scared and ran away. He was never seen again.
